Mark also works in an intimate (close-up) style, which is suitable for smaller settings, or indeed for dinners and other events where a more personal approach is desired or can lead guided retreats on the theme of Giftedness and Magic, where participants are taken on a journey to the eventual re-discovery of their own inner gold. He has been used as headline entertainer at Christian conferences, and is also available at such events as a speaker on Magic and Religion. Finally, Mark has led many events at schools and cathedrals where young people are taken on a journey into the world of global spirituality.

Mark was ordained as a priest (Anglican) after gaining his Bachelor of Theology Degree at Ripon College Cuddesdon, Oxford. Fascinated by magic as a child he continues to explore this multi-faceted art, which he uses to entertain, to teach, and as a fantastic way to communicate and get to know people. Some might see magic and religion as opposing forces; Mark views them as equal expressions of the deep human search for meaning and wonder.

Mark has performed everywhere from Gothic Cathedrals to the East African Savannah, and has entertained everyone from Catholic Nuns to Massai Warriors. He is as at home performing in front of thousands as he is within the intimate surroundings of his local pub.

Mark has made several television appearances as a clerical conjurer and has published many original magic effects. He has a new book soon to be released called 'The Gospel of Falling Down' in which  magic and spirituality are both drawn into a compelling self-help guide on discovering our inner gold through the cracks and flaws in our lives.

Mark has been a member of both the International Brotherhood of Magicians and The Magic Circle for nearly a decade, and has trained under top magicians, Paul Daniels (UK), Jeff McBride (Las Vegas) and Eugene Burger (Chicago).

Mark is also a student of the Wizard, Kenton Knepper, and is a member of Kenton's S.E.C.R.E.T. SCHOOL

In July 2007 Mark resigned from parish ministry and now works as a full-time magician, writer and mystifier.

Mark still uses his priestly skills and experience by offering himself as an 'Alternative Officiant' for the various rites of passage that folk require (see 'Soulful Ceremonies' page). He does not conduct such rituals as a 'Christian Minister' but as an 'Independant Officiant', seeing his role as being for those who, while not wanting a 'Religious' ceremony, still desire it to be 'Spiritual'.
